Many of you to come visit our blog (and our site) and you wonder who is behind. Well, let me tell you about us ...
First, we are not travel agency or a company looking to sell anything. We are a couple in their thirties with a small baby, travel enthusiasts. We had the opportunity to visit beautiful countries in recent years (! Our honeymoon, fabulous 5 weeks) Turkey, Spain, Belgium (yes, it is a dream), London, New York, the New Caledonia , Las Vegas, Thailand, Sri Lanka and ... Maldives.
We do not come from middle-class families, the money is not flowing stream but we managed to do all this with our savings (for example, preferred to pay a great trip than having a flat screen TV or the Last console fashion is all about choices!) and especially with a lot of patience and negotiation. Some trips we have made ourselves from A to Z without going through an agency (it allows great savings but you have to research in advance and have time). For others, we used to tour but know that everything is negotiable, everything (well, not looking for either a discount for travel to 250 euros per person in Turkey, the price is already unbeatable. But for distant destinations, you often leeway to negotiate, even with large groups! But shhh, I have not told you anything ...). What I mean is that even if the Maldives is an expensive destination, it is possible to get there but provided to overlook certain things (for example, go for the worst period take the risk of rain, or when does that go half board and not having lunch) or save for a few years and pay a fine hotel and then there is taking very in advance (this is where we often get good rates in the air) or conversely by jumping on opportunities last minute ... It's all about choice and organization ...
Anyway, so we landed in the Maldives the first time a few years ago by chance: an enchanted stay colleague gave me mouth water with his stories and 15 days after, hop, here we are there low. We have not gone for the best time, we were there in May (3 days of rain on the room) but it was enough to make us addicted to this little corner of paradise. That is what we are subsequently returned at different times and in different hotels too.
What we liked? The fact that there, you have to rest, disconnect from reality. Let's be honest, the Maldives is not a very "cultural" destination is not going for it. Wanted before the calm, tranquility, white sand beaches, crystal clear and warm water, and thousands of colorful fish. Of course, there, we did not stop to sympathize both with other tourists with staff, often with great kindness. We also learned a lot about wildlife and underwater flora, especially with monitors diving centers, often passionate and who do not hesitate to give good news.
So why does a site and a blog? Just because we encountered the same difficulties as you choose the hotels where we were staying. Not easy to choose to offer such a wide and given the budget, it is better not to make mistakes. I found it lacked a site containing all the hotels with their features, photos, "more" and "less" ... it was always compiling data from multiple sites, which in the end required a real investigative work. That is why my husband and I decided to create us a database of all the info. Then I told myself that it could surely help other people make their choices and therefore had to make a website Hotelsauxmaldives.com . Of course, I will not deny that it took us an enormous amount of research, but we are pleased to share it. We tried to stay as neutral and objective as possible, we do not say also the name of the hotel where we were. Then, to complete the information on the site, we made a blog Maldives which houses articles describing both the current Maldives, its hotels, practical information. To all this also adds Maldives forum for discussing the destination, give tips ...
We hope that our site and blog help you and are open to any comments and / or suggestions
